ALOM 160 C

ALOM 160 C
ALOM 160 C is a base demulsifier in water solution to control demulsification leading to reduction of emulsions from high alkaline earth metal soaps in crude oils and reduction as a Naphthenate soaps dissolver-inhibitor, for crude oils and solids formed in emulsions and on pipes in oil production, in export tanks or upstream processing units and product streams and heat exchangers in the refineries. It will inhibit and destroy the ability to form tenacious emulsions, by a preferable reaction of alkaline earth metal ions on their way to form soaps and emulsions. ALOM 160 C can control the schematics and routes to the gum forming emulsified Naphthenates from Naphthenic acids in crude oil production. It will minimize the normal soap surfactants of alkali and alkaline earth metals, organic scales (especially useful for calcium soaps) in refinery heat exchangers.
ALOM 160 C will inhibit calcium from the calcium carboxylates found in some high calcium crude oils. ALOM 160 C can enhance desalting and demulsification by controlling the metals and the acids forming naphthenate emulsified soaps.

General Information

ALOM 160 C – will remove and control calcium from the emulsions due to calcium carboxylates found in the high calcium in crude oils. This product will also minimize the formation of the normal carboxylic soaps and naphthenic acids soaps emulsions in crude oils and other product streams, depending on the severity of the problem. Also synthesized in this base formulation are some surfactants-dispersants, which will finely disperse the naphthenate soaps inherent in crude oils from the formation from agglomerating, acting thus as anti-agglomerants for Naphthenate soaps.

ALOM 160 C – may be used to lower the real basic sediment values in crude oils. ALOM 160 C must be injected as far upstream as possible, at manifolds, upstream separators and desalters, even into high temperature heat exchangers and heaters. The best results occur when the chemical is injected via an atomizer quill system or pumping via notched quills. This allows good reactions with the acidic components in the multi-phased media at the highest temperature locations. The chemical contains a phase transfer molecule that effects good transfer of chemical amongst the phases. As it is a true inhibitor it will help the refinery process and reduce the huge cost of refining naphthenate crudes. The substantial savings this product can bring to the downstream and upstream markets are to be explored.

Treat Rates
ALOM 160 C –is recommended for use at a treat rate of 50 to 300 mg/l depending on the severity of the naphthenic acid concentration, concentration of inherent soaps and the degree of fouling control that is required. The chemical can be blended to improve economics to whatever activity is required.

PRODUCT APPLICATION

ALOM 160 C - The actual treat rate, optimized due to good mixing at high heat reaction points, will reveal the economics of the treatment. This chemical, as its water based, it can be winterized with glycols for cold weather storage and applications but it’s cost effective, in winter conditions, to inject this from lagged-insulated chemical tanks fitted with heaters and pumped through heated injection lines. The ALOM 160 C should be injected at the highest temperature available before the crude oil reaches the separators for optimum effectiveness. We have added surfactants-dispersants to prevent inherent precipitated deposits from agglomerating. It is essential to apply ALOM 160 C, along with main demulsifiers or blended with other bases to make an overall demulsifier package. Although ALOM 160 C is a base for blending it can be used separately.

b>ALOM 160 C - , a good demulsifier, for dehydration, in processes running carboxylic - Naphthenic acid crude oils.
